I chose the Yaeger cpa review course after much online research, found 2 study partners to do cpa prep together, and scheduled the exams for the 3 cpa sections.

That was when I opted for the home study course offered by Yaeger. The result was better than anticipated as I succeeded in passing the three sections with high scores.

The Yaeger website claims that students who have studied the Yaeger CPA review course have an average pass rate of 88% on the CPA exam. The founder, Dr. Phil Yaeger, has helped prepare people for the exam since 1977. I liked the fact Dr. Yaeger and his team provided access to a teachers help line. It is a valuable part of their student support system and is an 800 number. Needless to say, I made frequent use of this service and even spoke to Dr. Yaeger himself on a few occasions. The instructors were understanding and ensured all my questions were answered before completing the call.

I found the lecture videos quite engaging and led by well qualified tutors. The videos kept to a a simple format where tutors explained the key concepts and gave multiple choice questions and samples. The good thing about the Yaeger system is they placed emphasis on materials with a higher chance of turning up on the exam. The instructors also encourage students to revise the most relevant questions likely to appear in the exam.

Also worth noting are Yaeger's cram DVDs which could be responsible for adding between 5 to 15 points to your exam scores. Every DVD teaches a reduced version of a single CPA section and varies between 7-16 hours. The emphasis really seems to be on finding areas you are weak at and adding belief and knowledge to strengthen them. Even candidates that are using a different CPA review course can benefit from these cram DVDs by using them for supplementary, last-minute study materials.

All Yaeger CPA review course materials are are reviewed on a regular basis, including lesson videos which are recorded annually. It means the course is pretty much current and you can have assurance the material is still applicable.

Surprisingly, in spite of their high quality, Yaeger CPA products cost less than than many other CPA exam review courses. Overall, I am ecstatic with the Yaeger CPA review course as guided me to success in the CPA exam. I would not hesitate in recommending it to anyone looking to pass the CPA exam the first time.

There are many forums and review sites that offer good insight to the most useful courses. Feedback given on those sites will help you make the best choice.

Additionally, the lectures can be available through a variety of media, such as recorded webcasts, CDs, DVDs, or USB. If course material access is restricted, it limits how you can benefit. It is therefore wise to consider how the material is delivered before deciding which course to subscribe to.

Always keep in mind, access to course materials expires and you should note the expiration date prior to buying. Some questions and simulation software will become disabled at a certain time after activation. As well, some courses have materials which are available to students for a set periods before they become inaccessible.
